Event Details

Location

Morning registration, the keynote address, tabling, and poster presentations will take place in the Young Student Center at Keene State College. Oral presentations will take place in both the Student Center and the Putnam Science Center.

Parking & Directions

Conference attendees are welcome to park in the Student Center and Science Lots (which are both accessed via Winchester Street) and the Elliot Lot off Wyman Way, as seen on this campus map. Parking is free, and you do not need a permit or pass. Please allow extra time for parking and walking to the Student Center. Note: the best GPS address to use for the Student Center is 24 Madison Street, Keene.

Food & Drink

The conference fee includes locally-roasted coffee, a light breakfast, and afternoon cookies. Gluten-free options will be available. To keep registration fees low, lunch is not included. We have a full day planned, so we strongly encourage in-person attendees to bring a bag lunch or to purchase food from one of KSC’s on-campus dining options rather than traveling off-campus during our short lunch window. The Zorn Dining Commons is located next to the Student Center, and has dine-in, takeaway, and gluten-free options; lunch at the Zorn costs $11.30, payable at the door via cash or credit card.

To minimize waste, we will not be serving bottled water. We encourage attendees to bring a refillable water bottle; filtered water refilling stations and water fountains are available in both the Student Center and Science Center.

Accessibility

All event spaces are wheelchair-accessible, and accessible parking is available in both the Science and Student Center lots. Accessible and gender-neutral bathrooms are available in both the Science and Student Centers, and both buildings have elevators and push-button-activated door controls. Microphones will be used for the keynote and all oral presentations. In addition, private rooms are available in both buildings (Room # TBD) for nursing mothers or others who need a quiet, private space.

For more information or to request additional accommodations, please contact the conference organizers by email.

WiFi

Wifi is available to all conference attendees. To access it, select “KSC-Open” from the list of available WiFi networks. If you are not automatically prompted, open a web browser and go to this webpage, then follow the onscreen instructions to register and connect to KSC-Open.

Field Trips

New in 2025: We are offering two optional field trips on Sunday, November 16: a morning bird walk in Swanzey in partnership with the Monadnock Bird and Nature Club, and an afternoon mushroom foray in Keene with the Monadnock Mushroom Club.
