The spring bird migration begins in March as waterfowl move north through the state, with 36 species of ducks, geese, and swans recorded on the Connecticut River from Hinsdale to Charlestown. We’ll carpool to the best birding spots, with a little easy walking as needed, in hopes of seeing the spectacle. Wear mud boots, bring lunch, and meet at 8 a.m. in the Home Depot parking lot off Route 9 in Keene. Carpools return by 1 p.m.

Cosponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and New Hampshire Audubon.
