Geoff Jones, forester and certified chainsaw safety instructor, will lead this safety workshop. Topics include saw maintenance, chain filing, safety equipment, understanding “kickback,” and safe techniques for felling, limbing, and bucking trees relative to trail work. Please bring your own saw with fuel, oil, file, and tools, and all safety equipment: hard hat with face shield and hearing protection, chaps, gloves, and boots. Bring lunch and dress appropriately, as there will be indoor and outdoor hands-on activities during this full-day workshop.
