Every winter for 49 consecutive years, volunteers have scoured a 15-mile diameter circle in the Peterborough-Hancock area for birds as part of the Christmas Bird Count (CBC) – the largest and longest-running community science project in the world. In addition to the teams who fan out in the field, birds are also tallied at backyard feeders.

Join the fun during a group watch at the Harris Center feeders with Steven Lamonde and other bird enthusiasts, where we’ll tally high counts of all bird species observed from the comfort (and warmth) of the Harris Center building. A great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to science, and to learn from the experts. Beginning birders welcome!

9 to 11 a.m. at the Harris Center. Space is limited, and registration is required. For more information, please contact Steven.
