Easygoing Hike on the Wapack Trail
Friday, December 6, 2019,
10:00 am to 2:30 pm
NOTE: Due to the deep snow, we will hike the Jaffrey Rail Trail instead of the Wapack Trail. The meeting location is the same, or you can meet us at the trailhead in downtown Jaffrey (near Lab N’ Lager) at 10:15 a.m. Snowshoes are highly recommended. After the hike, we’ll gather at Sunflowers Cafe for lunch.
Join Rich Taylor and Lee Baker for one of longtime Harris Center outing leader Ollie Mutch’s favorite trips — a moderately strenuous, 2.5-mile roundtrip hike along the Wapack Trail and down the Berry Pasture Trail in Sharon. Expect an elevation gain of approximately 600 feet. Bring water and lunch, and meet at 10 a.m. at the Ocean State Job Lot parking lot at the intersection of Routes 101 and 202 in Peterborough. Back by 2:30 p.m. If the weather is bad, the trip will divert to hike a section of rail trail in Jaffrey. Afterwards, all are invited to retire to a local restaurant in Peterborough for good food and good cheer. For more information, please contact Rich or Lee.
