Join Harris Center naturalist Susie Spikol and forest ecologist Jeremy Wilson for good company and great views on this gentle, 2-mile+ loop hike along woodland trails and old roads. We’ll take our time to savor the sights and sounds of the summer woods, explore both natural and cultural history, and visit some giant white pines that still stand tall on New England Forestry Foundation land. Expect some gentle ups and downs on trails, dirt roads, and an old logging road. Bring water and dress for the weather and conditions, including biting insects.

10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Thacher Memorial Forest in Hancock. Exact meeting location will be provided upon registration. Space is limited, and registration is required.

For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie.
