Environmental Studies Institute: Foraged Cocktails
Monday, May 3,
7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
An event every month that begins at 7:00 pm on day First of the month, repeating until Monday, July 5, 2021
Join Machina Kitchen and ArtBar mixologist and master bartender Becca Paine for three evenings focused on foraging, harvesting, creating, mixing, and making wild cocktails. Each month, Becca will highlight a local wild edible spun into an enchanting drink. Learn how to identify and sustainably forage these local plants, how they are connected to the local ecosystem, and how to turn them into refreshing and unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic sips. Raise your glass and toast the natural world in this special Harris Center-Machina collaboration!
This class will meet on Mondays, May 3, June 7, and July 5, from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. Closed captioning will be available.
Cost: $20 per session, which includes one complimentary foraged cocktail or mocktail at Machina ArtBar during the month that session is offered (while supplies last).
Instructor: Becca Paine is an award-winning bartender (Best Bartender in New Hampshire by NH Magazine in 2020, Regional Winner of the 2018 Mixology Shakedown featuring West Cork Whiskey), and has made her mark in the Keene cocktail scene for over a decade. As the bar manager and lead bartender at the Machina ArtBar, she is passionate about creating unique, seasonal cocktails with local, fresh ingredients. Becca loves to teach and learn through bartending, introducing guests and coworkers alike to new drinks, ingredients, and techniques.
