Exploring the Gramwick Trail
Sunday, June 22,
10:00 am to 12:30 pm

Join avid hikers Brian Bishoff, Betsy Marshall, and Denny Wheeler for a 2-mile roundtrip hike of the Monadnock Conservancy’s Gramwick Trail, with beautiful views of Mountain Brook Reservoir and Mount Monadnock. At this time of year, there should be plenty of summer birdsong and wildflowers to enjoy. Our route will take us along gently rolling terrain on a well-established trail, with one modest hill to climb.
Meet at 10 a.m. at the Gramwick Trail parking area on Peabody Hill Road in Jaffrey. Back by 12:30 p.m. Come prepared for sun, weather, and biting insects. Space is limited, and registration is required. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing contact Brian.
Directions to the Gramwick Trail from downtown Jaffrey: From the stop-lighted intersection at Main Street and Route 202, head south on River Street (Route 202) for .04 mile. Turn right onto Gilmore Pond Road. After about a mile you will reach the intersection with Sandy Lane; keep left to stay on Gilmore Pond Road. Continue for another .07 mile until you reach Peabody Hill Road. Bear left onto Peabody Hill Road. Head down the hill and, just after the bridge, you’ll see a parking area and trailhead on your left. (View a map of the trail and parking area here.)
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Monadnock Conservancy.
