Go Wild for At-Home Learners: Insects of Field & Forest

to 2:30 pm

  • This event has passed.

This school year, whether you’re homeschooling or learning remotely, consider joining the Harris Center on the third Tuesday of each month for outside-only nature experiences, guided by our talented teacher-naturalists. Learn how to use tools and your own curiosity to discover the wild secrets of where you live! Sharpen your observation skills, think scientifically, draw what you see, write what you feel, and open your senses to all that you can learn about this place we call home.

In September, we’ll explore the diverse world of insects — using sweep nets, terrariums, magnifiers, and field guides to search for these fascinating creatures of field and forest.

1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Harris Center. This learning experience is for homeschoolers and remote learners in Grades 1 through 5. All classes will meet outside, and will follow the Harris Center’s COVID-19 outing guidelines.

Cost: $20 per class for Harris Center supporters / $30 for all others

Group size is limited to 8 participants, and registration is required. Register online here.
