Join avid hiker Miki Clements and birder Gail Coffey for a 1.3-mile loop hike through the Nissitissit River Headwaters Preserve, which was recently protected by the Mason Conservation Commission and Piscataquog Land Conservancy. This preserve features a pond, a meadow, and varied woodlands, which are home to many species of breeding and migratory birds. Our route along a new loop trail will include all of these habitats, as well as a slight climb to a lovely rock formation. Dress for the weather and conditions, including biting insects.
Meet at 9 a.m. at the Nissitissit River Headwaters Preserve trailhead on Abbott Hill Road in Mason. Back by 11 a.m. Space is limited, and registration is full.
