Join adventurers Kathy Schillemat and Al Stoops for a moderately strenuous paddle down the North Branch of the Contoocook River from below the Robb Reservoir dam to North Branch Pond. With luck, we may see herons, osprey, turtles, beavers, and maybe even otter or moose. In most places, the paddling will be easy, but our route will likely include a short portage over a rocky area, so come prepared to get your feet wet. One or two vehicles will be available at the endpoint to shuttle paddlers back to their vehicles.

Meet at 8 a.m. at the Robb Reservoir parking area off Keene-Concord Road in Stoddard. Back between noon and 1 p.m. Bring your own canoe or kayak, paddles and PFDs for each person in your boat, lunch, and plenty of water – and come prepared for sun, weather, and biting insects. Space is limited, and registration is required.

For general information about Harris Center field trips, including questions about accessibility, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing, contact Kathy.
