Salamander Crossing Brigade Workshop
Thursday, March 12, 2026,
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Every year, on the first warm, rainy nights of spring, thousands of frogs and salamanders migrate to vernal pools and other wetlands en masse in a phenomenon known as “Big Night.” Sadly, many are killed when they must cross roads. To help, the Harris Center coordinates volunteer Salamander Crossing Brigades, who move migrating amphibians across roads by hand on Big Nights, keeping count as they go. Attend this fun, information-packed volunteer training to join their ranks – or simply to learn more about the remarkable spring amphibian migration.
7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. To get the login details, please register here. Please save the confirmation email you receive from Zoom, as this will contain a link you need to access at the time of the event. Closed captioning will be available.
Note: This event will be recorded. To ensure access to the recording, please register for this event, even if you cannot attend live. We will follow up with all registered participants when the recording is ready to view.
