Join Harris Center teacher-naturalists Jenna Spear, and Jaime Hutchinson for this fun and energizing professional development workshop for K to 5th-grade teachers.

The first two months of school are the perfect time to establish a class culture that includes focused, nature-based learning. This workshop will kick off your outdoor planning by offering numerous strategies for including fresh-air learning during the school day. Strategies we’ll model may include short “Brain Breaks;” outdoor Morning Meetings; games that build social skills, attention, and observation skills; mapmaking; record keeping; and exploring nearby nature related to your academic curriculum.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center. Cost: $120. Space is limited to 20 attendees, and registration is required by August 1. For questions about the event, including accessibility, please contact Jenna Spear.
