Each spring and fall, Harris Center staff, students, and citizen scientists monitor a series of study plots as part of SPARCnet, a collaborative research effort aimed at understanding the effects of climate change on redbacked salamanders (Plethodon cinereus).

To see what it’s all about, join Brett Amy Thelen for an afternoon of monitoring. We’ll start at the Harris Center with a brief introduction to redbacked salamander ecology and to our study methods, then head into the woods to survey for salamanders. No experience necessary! 3 to 5 p.m. at the Harris Center. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Brett at (603) 358-2065 or by email.
