Oakes will discuss her book, Treekeepers: The Race for a Forested Future with forest ecologist Jeremy Wilson. Space is limited, and registration for each session is encouraged.

Join avid reader Susie Spikol and dendrophile Jeremy Wilson to read and discuss Treekeepers: The Race for a Forested Future. This poetic and probing book explores the vital role of forests in combating climate change and highlights the foresters, innovators, and citizens dedicated to restoring and protecting them. Then, on April 19, join Treekeepers author Lauren E. Oakes for an in-person talk with Ethan Tapper and Jeremy Wilson at the Harris Center.
This Environmental Studies Institute (ESI) course meets Tuesdays, April 8 and 15 from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom and on Saturday, April 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harris Center.
Cost: $20 for Harris Center supporters / $40 for all others

Lauren E. Oakes is a scientist and award-winning author specializing in forests, climate, and our relationships with the natural world. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Scientific American, Nautilus, and other media outlets. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation supported research and reporting for her most recent book, Treekeepers, about the global reforestation movement. She lives in Bozeman, Montana.
