Come start a new tradition with a late morning paddle around Hancock’s town gem! We’ll circumnavigate the pond, glimpsing back toward the hustle and bustle of Hancock’s Old Home Day as well as the church steeple and its beautiful arching barn. As we hug the water’s edge, we’ll search for turtles, beavers, and Great Blue Herons, and maybe even catch a sight of the Norway Pond mermaid.
Bring your own canoe, kayak, paddle board, dingy, inflatable tropical island, or seahorse. No matter what you paddle, make sure to bring a PFD for each person in your boat. Meet at 11 a.m. at the Norway Pond boat launch, off Main Street in Hancock. Back by noon. For more information, please contact Susie Spikol at (603) 525-3394 or by email.
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Norway Pond Commission.
