Bear expert Ben Kilham spoke to a rapt audience of 160+ Harris Center members at our annual members-only event yesterday. Enthusiastic Harris Center members spilled out of the Babbitt Room and onto the porch, listening intently as Ben described his fascinating research on black bear social structure. Ben also spoke about the importance of landscape-level land conservation, such as our SuperSanctuary, for New Hampshire’s wild bears.
The Harris Center offers more than 100 free programs and outings for the general public each year, but we reserve a few special programs just for our members. Members also receive discounts on Harris Center camps and Environmental Studies Institute courses and — at the “Sponsor” level — the opportunity to camp by reservation on beautiful Spoonwood Pond. We hope you’ll join us!
