Birding for All: World Migratory Bird Day Walk
Saturday, May 10,
8:00 am to 11:00 am

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day (WBMD) by joining naturalists Nate Marchessault and Chris Liazos to explore the Dillant-Hopkins Airport — a local birding hotspot with great views of wetlands, woodlands, and fields. The theme of this year’s WMBD is creating bird-friendly cities and communities, and the airport grounds are a good example of how birds and humans can coexist. Our route will take us a maximum of 2.5 miles roundtrip along a relatively flat, paved road that is accessible by wheelchair.
Birding for All outings are designed for people of all abilities, including those who experience accessibility challenges due to a disability or other health concern. Beginning birders are welcome! Bring binoculars, or borrow a pair from us.
Meet at 8 a.m. at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport parking lot in Swanzey. Back by 11 a.m. Space is limited, and registration is required. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Nate.
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Monadnock Bird and Nature Club.
