Join Andy Fast, Field Specialist with UNH Cooperative Extension, for a field trip to Hubbard Hill, where a prescribed burn occurred in 1998. Andy will explain why fire is an integral part of managing for blueberries, and detail the operation and challenges of conducting a prescribed burn. Bring a pail for blueberry picking, and meet at 9 a.m.at the Pitcher Mountain parking lot, just off Route 123 in Stoddard. Back by noon. For more information, please contact Eric Masterson at (603) 525-3394 or by email.
Cosponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education, Andorra Forest, and the UNH Cooperative Extension.
