Everyone loves turtles! Long-lived, unhurried, and ancient, a small turtle fits perfectly in a child’s hand. But they are also surprisingly agile (they can climb tall fences), smart (they outperform rats in mazes), and talkative (some communicate with mom while still in the egg). Celebrate the diversity of the world’s more than 300 turtle species on publication day for Matt Patterson and Sy Montgomery’s new Book of Turtles, a picture book suitable for both adults and kids. After the talk, stick around to see Matt’s great art, meet a live turtle or two, and pick up a signed, personalized copy of the new book.
6 to 7 p.m. at the Harris Center. Space is limited, and registration is required. For more information, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie Spikol.
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Hancock Town Library.
