Easygoing Hike to MacDowell Lake
Thursday, July 16, 2026,
10:00 am to 11:30 am

Join Jeremy Wilson and Susie Spikol for an easygoing, 1-mile roundtrip hike along a sandy, rolling path from Spring Road to MacDowell Lake. Along the way, we’ll stop at the old sandpit — now a turtle habitat restoration site — to learn what the Army Corps has done to improve nesting habitat for New Hampshire’s turtles. If we’re lucky, we’ll also spot some basking turtles at the lake!
10 to 11:30 a.m. at MacDowell Lake in Peterborough. Directions to the exact location will be provided prior to the event. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Army Corps of Engineers.
