Want to become more familiar with identifying mushrooms and other fungi in our local forests? Join Harris Center teacher-naturalists John Benjamin and Susie Spikol for an early fall hike, where we’ll search for all kinds of amazing fungi! Together, we’ll learn how to recognize edible and toxic species, practice identifying specimens, and discuss all things mycological.

Dress for the weather, and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Bring a basket for collecting mushrooms, a water bottle, sun and insect protection, and (if you have one) a mushroom field guide.

10 a.m. to noon in Hancock. Exact location information will be provided upon registration.

Space is limited, and registration is required. Please read our COVID-19 outing guidelines before registering to be sure this is the right program for you. Register online here.
