This school year, whether you’re homeschooling or learning remotely, consider joining the Harris Center one Friday a month for outside-only nature experiences, guided by our talented teacher-naturalists. Learn how to use tools and your own curiosity to discover the wild secrets of where you live! Sharpen your observation skills, think scientifically, draw what you see, write what you feel, and open your senses to all that you can learn about this place we call home.

In October, we’ll turn our sights toward mushroomsusing field guides and magnifiers, we’ll see how many different varieties of these decomposers we can find and explore the important role they play in the natural world.

10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Harris Center. This learning experience is for homeschoolers and remote learners in Grades 1 through 5. All classes will meet outside, and will follow the Harris Center’s COVID-19 outing guidelines.

Cost: $20 per class for Harris Center supporters / $30 for all others

This program is now full. You can find information on other events for homeschoolers and remote learners here.
