This school year, whether you’re homeschooling or learning remotely, consider joining the Harris Center one Friday a month for outside-only nature experiences, guided by our talented teacher-naturalists. Learn how to use tools and your own curiosity to discover the wild secrets of where you live! Sharpen your observation skills, think scientifically, draw what you see, write what you feel, and open your senses to all that you can learn about this place we call home.

In November, we’ll learn all about squirrelsusing binoculars, behavior guides, and tracking skills, we’ll observe squirrels in the wild, find out how they communicate with their tails, and discover how they prepare for winter. After this class, you will never look at a squirrel the same way again!

10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Harris Center. This learning experience is for homeschoolers and remote learners in Grades 1 through 5. All classes will meet outside, and will follow the Harris Center’s COVID-19 outing guidelines.

Cost: $20 per class for Harris Center supporters / $30 for all others

Group size is limited to 8 participants, and registration is required. Register online here.
