Good-Bye To a House, a 22-minute documentary about Seaver Farm in Harrisville, is a lyrical account of an ordinary New Hampshire farm caught in the current of history. At its heart, it is a personal inquiry into local history, the caretakers of special places, and the importance of remembering, all while creating a vivid sense of place.

The film, directed by Chris Hardee of High Cairn Films, is based on an essay by Jodi Farwell who farms at Farwell Farm in Harrisville and once lived at Seaver Farm.

The screening will be complemented by a short introductory overview of Indigenous and post-settler land use in the region presented by Jenna Carroll, the Executive Director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County.

Following the film, Phil Brown, Bird Conservation Director & Land Specialist at the Harris Center will talk briefly about the 2010 Seaver Farm conservation easement brokered with the support of the Silver Lake Land Trust, as well as the value of farmland conservation in the region. A Q&A with filmmaker Hardee, Carroll, and Brown will conclude the program. DVDs will also be available for purchase after the film.
