Are you a veteran interested in learning more about fungi, mushrooms, and lichen? If so, we hope you’ll join Harris Center naturalist John Benjamin and mushroom maven George Caughey for an afternoon meander through Robin Hood Park in search of polypores, puffballs, and more. As we go, we’ll take time to discuss the varied roles that fungi play in our local ecosystems, and to explore the diverse uses of our fascinating finds. Dress for the weather and conditions, including biting insects.

This walk will be slow and on uneven terrain, and is only for veterans.

3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Robin Hood Park in Keene. Exact meeting location will be provided upon registration. Space is limited, and registration is required.

For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie Spikol.

Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Vet Center of Keene.
