|Recurring Events (See all)
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Friday, repeating until Friday, April 24, 2020
Join naturalist and avid reader Susie Spikol for an online discussion of Janisse Ray’s award-winning memoir Ecology of a Cracker Childhood. Ray’s recollections of growing up in a Florida junkyard outline a childhood marked by extreme poverty and mental illness, but are also a celebration of nature and wildness. This is a story of spirit and resilience and how the landscapes of our childhood shape our future lives. Fridays, April 17 and 24, from 11 a.m. to noon via Zoom.
Space is limited to 10 participants, and registration is required. To register and receive the Zoom details, please contact Susie by email.
