Each spring and fall, Harris Center staff, students, and citizen scientists monitor a series of study plots as part of SPARCnet, a collaborative research effort aimed at understanding the effects of climate change on redbacked salamanders (Plethodon cinereus). To see what it’s all about, join ecologists Brett Amy Thelen and Karen Seaver for an afternoon of monitoring. We’ll start with a brief introduction to redbacked salamander ecology and to our study methods, then head into the woods to survey for salamanders. No experience necessary!
