Calling all girls+ who love the outdoors and want to add to their repertoire of wilderness skills! Join Harris Center teacher-naturalist Nikko Gagnon and SheJumps Northeast Regional Coordinator Jaimee Rondeau for a morning of all things outdoors. We’ll romp in the woods, collect materials for tea, learn fire-building techniques, and practice proper preparation for hiking and snowshoeing in cold weather. Be sure to dress for the weather, as we’ll be outside for the entire program. We will have access to warm space and indoor bathrooms. For girls+ ages 10-13.

10 a.m. to noon at the Harris Center. Space is limited, and registration is full.

For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Nikko.

In an effort to create more belonging at the Harris Center, this outing has been designed with a specific group of people in mind. Learn more about our reasoning behind this on our Affinity Groups page.

SheJumps increases the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities to foster confidence, leadership, and connection to nature and community through free and low-cost outdoor education. SheJumps is an inclusive organization. They welcome all women and girls — transgender and cisgender — as well as non-binary people. SheJumps strives to fight against racism and acknowledges that their events and programs take place on traditional, unceded Indigenous lands. You can follow SheJumps on Facebook and Instagram.
