Note: This event was originally scheduled for January 30.

Let your wild side shine on this nearly full moon walk to Juggernaut Pond! We’ll explore the winter landscape by moonlight, listening for Great Horned Owls as they tend their nests, watching for the eyeshine of nocturnal mammals, and soaking in the crisp night air. This 2-mile roundtrip hike follows an old, wide road with minimal elevation gain — a perfect opportunity for night snowshoeing if conditions allow. Dress warmly and come prepared for winter weather with spikes or snowshoes (or borrow winter gear from us).

7 to 9 p.m. at Juggernaut Pond in Hancock. Exact meeting location will be provided prior to the event. Space is limited, and registration is full. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie Spikol.
