In 2016, our intrepid citizen scientists documented 50 new vernal pools in Alstead, Antrim, Fitzwilliam, Hancock, Mason, Rindge, Surry, Swanzey, Troy, and Walpole, bringing our project total to 240 documented vernal pools in the Monadnock Region. Data for vernal pools on public lands have been shared with the Southwest Region Planning Commission and local land managers, and are displayed via our spiffy online map. Check it out!

Do spring-breeding amphibians pique your interest? The Vernal Pool Project is still underway, and many potential vernal pools will need to be visited on Harris Center lands in 2017. Visit our Vernal Pool Project page for more information, then contact Brett Amy Thelen at (603) 358-2065 or by email to volunteer.
