Join Harris Center ecologist Brett Amy Thelen for an afternoon of salamander monitoring at the Harris Center’s long-term study plots. Our data will contribute to SPARCnet, a national research effort aimed at understanding the effects of climate change on woodland salamanders. We’ll start with a brief introduction to red-backed salamander ecology and to our study methods, then head into the woods to search for salamanders. No experience necessary!

4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Harris Center. Space is limited, and registration is required.

For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Brett.
