Calling all birders, paddlers, and history buffs! Join Phil Brown, Alan Rumrill, and Geri Bailey for a leisurely paddle through one of the most diverse ecosystems in New England, where we’ll look for eagles, turtles, herons, and more. Afterward, we’ll discuss the remarkable human and conservation history of the 1,750-acre Robb Reservoir reservation, which was once home to hayfields, mills, and a glass factory – and which nearly became an 82-home subdivision. Bring your own canoe or kayak, binoculars, and a PFD for each person in your boat, and come prepared for sun and biting insects.

9 a.m. to noon at Robb Reservoir in Stoddard. Exact meeting location will be provided upon registration. Space is limited, and registration is required.

For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Phil.

Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education, the Stoddard Historical Society, and Celebrate Stoddard 250.
