Slow Birding is an approach to connecting with nature through bird observation focused on place, and on slowing down and being in the moment with birds. It’s not about listing the species you’ve seen or chasing down rare birds, but instead reawakening and fine-tuning your innate birding skills while creating a deeper connection to birds, to the place you live, and to yourself.

This four-week course will guide you in developing this alternative approach to birding, and help you establish a practice focused on birding in place. Through customized email prompts, video tutorials, a private Facebook group, and live weekly discussions, you’ll learn how to start a “sit spot” practice, take your observation skills to the next level, and deepen your connection to the birds right outside your door. Great for beginners and experienced birders alike!

This class will meet on Mondays, May 3, 10, 17 & 24, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Closed captioning will be available.
Cost: $80 for Harris Center supporters / $100 for all others
