LGBTQ+ Community Paddle on Nubanusit Lake and Spoonwood Pond
Saturday, July 15, 2023,
10:00 am to 2:00 pm
- This event has passed.
Join Janet Yardley (she, her), Richard Doherty (he, him), and Hunter Kirschner (he, they) for an LGBTQ+ paddle on Nubanusit Lake and Spoonwood Pond, where we’ll look for eagles, loons, mergansers, and other wildlife. This moderately strenuous paddle will cover between 6 and 10 miles, and may involve a short portage between Nubi and Spoonwood. Afterward, we’ll have access to a private area for swimming, relaxing, and fostering community. Bring a lunch, water, your own canoe or kayak, and PFDs for each person in your boat, and come prepared for sun. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Nelson. Exact meeting location will be provided upon registration. Rain date: July 16. Space is limited, and registration is required.
If you need to borrow a kayak or canoe, paddles, or a PFD, please contact Janet by July 12. For general information about Harris Center field trips, including questions about accessibility, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing, contact Richard or Hunter.
