In 2015, our Vernal Pool Project volunteers documented 30 new vernal pools in Antrim, Harrisville, Jaffrey, Mason, Peterborough, Rindge, Swanzey, Walpole, and Westmoreland, bringing our project total to 190 documented vernal pools on public and conserved lands in the Monadnock Region. Data for vernal pools on public lands have been shared with the Southwest Region Planning Commission, the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Collaborative, and local conservation commissions, and are displayed via our spiffy online map. Check it out!

Do spring-breeding amphibians pique your interest? The Vernal Pool Project is still underway, and many potential vernal pools will need to be visited on Harris Center lands in 2016. Visit our Vernal Pool Project page for more information, then contact Brett Amy Thelen at (603) 358-2065 or by email to volunteer.
