Camping at Spoonwood Pond has been made more comfortable with the addition of tent platforms at Sites #1 and #2. Each of these sites now has one platform, measuring 8×10 feet with four corner hooks to hold guy ropes. Sites #3 and #4 have enough spacious, duff-covered ground that platforms are not needed at those locations. Many thanks to volunteer Ric Haskins for his extraordinary help with this construction project, which was particularly tricky due to the remote nature of these campsites!
As a reminder, overnight camping at Spoonwood Pond is carefully managed, accessible only via canoe or kayak, and available by reservation only to Harris Center donors at the $75 level and above. You can learn more about this special wilderness experience here.
